Until next week,

Your Faithful Editor,
Joey Young

Its been about two weeks since I’ve made an official post on the blog, so, to get back in the groove of things, and since there is now actually something to report on, here’s the post of the week!

After brainstorming, and other projects growing cold on the dinner table, Mr. Orta came up with a grand idea to help raise funds for our trip: An Ultimate Frisbee Tournament. An not some rinky ding tournament, a complete legit sponsored area wide Ultimate Tourney. So, we’ve begun designing logos, posters, calling business about sponsorships, and making plans to host and follow through with the Tourney. So far, we’ve only got outlines of logistics, but if anyone reading has any kind of pointers, leads on sponsorships, or any other kind of helpful information, it would all be GREATLY appreciated. You can find our contact information through the Contact Us link on both our homepage and our blog page.

Well, that would be it for this week.

As always, Your Faithful Editor,

Joey Young

This is our first official current news post of the Googleplexorbust.com blog! From now on, hopefully once a week, I will be updating the site with our current goings-on and various projects we’re undertaking, as well as some info about our progress towards our faithful pilgrimage to Googleplex.

As of now, we’re still the “underdogs” in our eyes, being a bit behind in our fund raising and jobs. We are starting the work on the Boys and Girls Club of the Emerald Coast website, revamping it and updating it to the most current technology. After this, we also have a few Search Engine Optimization projects, a chance to show off our acquired skills in the field of SEO.

From Here, we’ll continue searching for projects and jobs to raise our much needed funds for our trip.Thats it for this week. Tune in next time, same Google site, same Google time.

Your Faithful Editor,

Joey Young

Throughout our Web Design career under Mr. McSheehy, Google has always been an example of success and greatness in the field of Web Design.  Many a class period has been dedicated to designing, and learning from, various google items, such as iGoogle Gadgets, Google Docs, and using the new Google Chrome to see its effects on web pages, specifically in terms of efficiency and appearance.

The idea of an actual trip to the Googleplex in Mountainview, California began during the summer  Mr. McSheehy became  Google Adwords Certified.     Knowing that Google represented  the cutting edge  for web technology he proposed the venture to the Web 5 class at the beginning of the school year.

To raise enough money to fund our trip, we’re prepared to wield every skill and ability we’ve learned throughout our Web training, emptying our “Ninja bag of tricks,” to take us the distance.

The Web Design V class is comprised of students who took the long road of Web Design. Starting in the 8th grade with Web Design I, we have progressed through the high school web design courses, honing our Web skills and earning many certifications. But, sadly, the courses were supposed simply end with Web Design IV, leaving our senior year “Web-less.” So, we pressed and pushed for a Web V class, which is where we ran into another roadblock: We needed more students to fill the class with. So, on the eve of our senior year, Web V did not look like a possibility. But, thanks to the valiant efforts of Mr. Brian Orta, the class was authorized and the Web V Team was born. Over these four years, we have accomplished things that many would say are impossible for a group of high school students to accomplish, such as earning SEO certifications and CIW Masters certifications. This has laid the path for future students to tread upon and set the bar high for them to live up to. The sky is the limit for the Web V Team, and with that mentality, there’s nothing we cannot accomplish this year.
